Requirements
In this Descript Underlord course, I walk you through my complete workflow for editing podcasts with a focus for interview style, audio, and video, with multiple speakers.
We go from loading the files into Descript and preparing your project, all the way to cleaning up your sound, cleaning up your text, editing the episode while marking up important fragments for social media clips, and editing with Descript’s AI features to save time.
Now, I don’t like to edit twice. That’s why in this course, I set out to give you my complete strategies and best practices for editing efficiently in Descript.
I’ll go through the right order of operations in detail so that at the end, you have everything:
- a finished audio and video podcast episode you can publish to your podcast platform
- social media clips already selected and ready to share on your social media platform
- chapters and highlights and show notes, ready for YouTube and for your podcast platform.
This course covers every aspect of podcast production using Descript Underlord.
And we start with an efficient project setup, so that really informs the way forward in your edit.
And then we move through the advanced editing techniques, markup as you go, all the way to your final export.
Learn the AI features
You will learn to use Descript’s AI features to enhance your workflow and save time, and we will explore Studio Sound to clean up your audio.
We will then go through a thorough filler word removal, in bulk and manual, removing long gaps, and creating your dynamic video layouts if you’re editing video podcast.
I’ll show you how to use AI to generate chapters, to select social media clips automatically and manually, and also to write YouTube descriptions, show notes and more.
Learn the WHAT and the WHY
And while AI is nice and convenient, I will also show you the manual way to do everything because this will reduce your reliance only on AI. You will know why you’re doing certain things, certain operations, not just point and click and hope for the best.
Sometimes Descript offers several ways to achieve the same thing.
Throughout the course, I share time-saving methods that will speed up your process and improve your content quality.
I will mention keyboard shortcuts you can use, and tricks and approaches for digging deep into your files and making fine adjustments.
I not only show you what to do, but I also explain why.
Develop Your Muscle Memory
You’ll gain skills to create podcasts more efficiently, allowing you to focus more on content creation and less on the technical details.
And before long, your muscle memory will kick in and all the Descript interface will become second nature.
Why Learn with Me?
I have coached hundreds of students in learning Descript over many years, and through several major redesigns of Descript, from Classic to Storyboard, and now to Underlord.
This experience has informed the creation of this course.
I will answer the most frequent questions the editors have and the beginners have when trying to learn Descript.
I address common mistakes and anticipate the challenges you will have when using it.
The course is designed for both beginners and experienced podcasters who are trying to break into Descript and maybe see if that’s an option for them to edit.
I am showing you the latest version of Descript called Underlord in this course.
Join me in learning the right way to edit an interview podcast with Descript from A to Z.
Every lesson has a discussion where you can ask questions and I’ll be happy to answer those straight away. I will even create a new lesson to address your question, if that is necessary.
I’m looking forward to welcoming you in this course.
