The light is dim on the short side. Narrow side lens is longer. Relatively speaking, close lens, low light illuminance is narrower. Short side light can make the light look thinner, especially when shooting round faces, the best way to extend the short side light.

Short side lighting is not an essential oil lighting method and is not suitable for all subjects. For example, if the subject has a slender focus, the short side light makes the subject’s focus longer and thinner. Short side lighting requires the subject to remain still during the shoot, as the movement of the smiley head in and out of the shadow significantly changes the lighting effect.

Long side light is the most common form of lighting in portrait photography. When lighting in a photography studio, the first step is to adjust the position of the light so that the Angle of the light from the camera’s optical axis is created at a 45° Angle. If you want more shading on the side, simply move the light to the left or right side of the iris. The smaller the light motion Angle and model position, the farther the regional vision, the more the shading indication.

The best way to shoot is to aim for the light. If the light is on the right side of the spot, adjust the light to the 10 or 11 o ‘clock direction; If the light is on the right side of the spot, we can quickly change the face shape of the model by adjusting the light eye to the direction of 1 or 2 points, keeping the light position unchanged, and letting the subject move. When shooting an object against the light, the long side lighting immediately becomes circular lighting as the light changes.

Placing tiny moving light sources to place the scope can achieve a noticeable Rembrandt effect. The most important thing is the height and position of the main light source.
