Draw a Gosling using Pastel Pencils with Colin Bradley

Requirements

Have you ever wished you could draw?

Would you love to be able to draw AMAZING animals you never thought possible?

With this course, you will learn the techniques and skills to be able to do just this.

Pastel Pencils

In my 30+ Years of Experience I have found that Pastel Pencils is the by far the easiest art medium to pick up and learn.

When you have finished this course not only will you walk away with a beautiful picture, but you will also be able to apply what you have learnt to draw other animals.

Materials

There are just 20 pencils in total that you need to draw this picture. You do not have to use the exact same brand as me but it is recommended.

The colours are as follows:

Caran d’Ache Pastel Pencils:

  • 802 French grey 10%
  • 901 Chinese white
  • 745 warm earth 40%
  • 746 warm earth 50%
  • 093 Violet grey
  • 808 French grey
  • 089 Dark carmine
  • 408 Dark sepia
  • 495 Slate grey
  • 506 Payne’s grey 50%
  • 008 Greyish black
  • 036 Raw Sienna
  • 212 Chromium oxyde green
  • 232 Middle moss green 10%
  • 243 Light olive 20%
  • 017 Light reseda
  • 234 Middle moss green 30%
  • 719 Dark phthalocyanine green
  • 229 Dark green
  • 736 Brown olive 50%

Pastel Paper

The paper I use is a Sand Coloured PastelMat Paper. This has sort of a sand paper like texture and gets brilliant results. If you are in the US then PastelMat might be a little hard to find, in which case we’d recommend UART 800 grit paper.

Outline Drawing

I provide you with an outline drawing for each portrait so that you do not have to draw the subject free hand. Trace this through to your paper using preferably a graphite transfer sheet like tracedown.

Step by Step Instructions

I walk you through step by step with video instruction how to draw each stage. You’ll learn techniques behind drawing beautiful animal pictures and create pictures you can be proud of.
