How to empty the memory and cache of an iPhone

iPhone or iPad in slow motion? Out of memory? Not enough space to save photos? It’s time to do some housework! In this tutorial, we explain how to clear the cache of your iOS and recover storage space.

1- Clear the Safari browser cache

Let’s start by removing the Safari cache, and this memory system makes it possible to display more recently visited internet pages. Note that during its cleaning, you will be automatically disconnected from the internet pages.

  1. Open the Settings option and select Safari.

  2. Tap Clear History, Site Data, and then Clear.

2- Remove the application cache

Data saved by other applications can also be deleted. To do this, go to the Use option.

  1. Select Settings →  General →  iPhone Storage.

  2. Then select: Manage storage.

  3. From the apps on the screen, select the ones with the most storage space, such as Documents & Data. Beyond 500 MB, consider removing the application and reinstalling it.
  4. Select Clear. Delete the App. Once done, go to the App Store to re-download and reinstall. Your app is now free of all data.

3- Restart your iPhone or iPad

Generally, iOS itself frees up space by deleting cached data that is wandering the system. However, we believe that relighting an iPhone from time to time can also free up memory and take full advantage of your favorite applications.

  1. Press and hold the Power / Standby button (top or top right of your device) until the Power Off option is displayed.
For new iPhone generations, press the Power / Standby button and the volume control simultaneously until the cursor appears.
  2. Select Shut down.

  3. When your device is completely turned off, press Power / Standby again to turn it back on.

We advise you to use this method regularly for two reasons. The first is a perfect solution when you do not know what to erase, the second, it lends itself very well to older models of iPhone or iPad.

4- Use PhoneClean

iMobie has developed the PhoneClean application, and it is entirely dedicated to clean up your iOS devices.
There are also packs that allow you to clean your iPhone or iPad further and recover deleted data.

Here’s how to use the PhoneClean trial version:

  1. Connect your iPhone to your Mac via a USB cable.
  2. Open PhoneClean and select Quick Clean (temporary files) or Deep Clean (current usage data), then click Scan.

  3. When the scan is finished, click Clean.

Some advanced features of PhoneClean, such as Photo Caches, which as its name suggests will remove photo caches, are paying off.
