Why hand massage?  We all use our hands all the time, and yet we neglect them and take them for granted, when in fact they deserve our care and attention.

Hand massage is a non-invasive therapy that is extremely versatile.

In this course you will learn dry techniques to mobilise bones and tendons; techniques with lubrication to increase circulation to the muscles, keeping them soft and healthy; and over 60  acupressure points on the hands and lower arm that have a beneficial effect on the whole body. Specific “first aid” uses for some of the points will be mentioned.

After a brief foray into the theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the bulk of this course is practical, with the techniques broken down into short modules to assist with learning. You will work alongside Anne, eventually building up to a complete 45 minute routine.

Tsuboki Japanese Hand massage will be a valuable tool to add to any therapist’s toolbox, especially as hand massage is so accessible. It can stand alone, or can be integrated into whatever you already practice. It can also be learned by lay people to use on friends and family.

There are no prerequisites for this course, but a knowledge of giving or receiving massage will be beneficial.
