This course is intended for upper-beginner level crocheters. Students should already know the chain, single crochet, double crochet, and slip stitches before enrolling in this course.
I have been crocheting for over 30 years! My mother taught me how to crochet when I was 10 years old, and I’ve never stopped. Crocheting is a wonderful way to release stress and anxiety, while being creative at the same time.
COURSE CONTENT:
For each lesson, you will…
- Watch the tutorial video that gives detailed instructions on how to make the granny square.*
- Follow the instructions in the video to make your own granny square (lessons 1-5), or assemble your bag. (lesson 6)
- Post a photo of your completed granny square (lessons 1-5) or your completed bag. (lesson 6)
* NOTE: Each video tutorial includes written instructions, video clips, and voiceovers.

MATERIALS REQUIRED:
For all lessons, you will require:
- yarn (yarn weight #3 or #4 is recommended)
- crochet hook (see yarn label for recommended size)
- scissors
- sewing needle with an eye large enough for your yarn
For lesson 6, you will also require:
- heavy books to act as weights
- a piece of thick cardboard
- a spray bottle with water in it
- sewing pins
- a thin towel if you want to keep your cardboard nice

- 3+ years online teaching experience
- 7+ years of classroom teaching experience
- Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) in good standing
- Bachelor of Education degree
