This course will take you through everything you need to know about Revit reinforcement. Here, you’ll elevate your expertise with a professional, in-depth look at every aspect of the tools Revit offers for reinforcement design and documentation.

Disclaimer: This course focuses exclusively on reinforcement modeling — it is not about creating or modeling concrete elements. You should already have your concrete geometry in place before beginning.

We’ll start with the basics of setting up a reinforcement project: loading rebar shapes, managing tags, and understanding the essential settings. From there, we’ll move into practical, efficient methods for placing rebars in concrete elements using the full range of Revit’s placement tools, with clear and detailed explanations for each step.

As you progress, the course will introduce more advanced techniques, including free-form rebar on curved walls, varying rebar on sloped walls, and the effective use of the Propagate tool with complex constraint configurations. Once the rebar is placed, we’ll explore the wide variety of modifications you can apply — adding hooks, cranks, couplers, and splices, editing shapes and constraints, and refining your design to match real-world reinforcement practice.

You’ll also learn best practices for setting up reinforcement numbering and partitions, along with how to build and customize a bending schedule that captures all the critical data your documentation requires. The course then guides you through producing professional rebar shop drawings for various structural elements — walls, beams, foundations, and stairs — all supported by well-documented examples available in the downloadable files.

By the end, you’ll have a complete understanding of Revit’s reinforcement tools and workflows. Whether you use it as a step-by-step guide, a detailed reference when modeling rebars, or a way to sharpen your skills for professional projects, this course will give you the confidence to deliver precise, high-quality reinforcement documentation.
