How to record the screen of an iPhone?

Want to show a friend how to activate a feature on their iPhone or how to finish a game? In this tutorial, Tech Advisor explains how to film the screen of your iPhone and iPad.

Screen the screen of an iPhone

Before filming the screen of your iPhone or iPad, make sure your device is up to date ( Settings → Software Update ).

Now go to Settings → Control Center. Tap Customize Orders.

From the options, locate Screen Recording and press the plus sign (+) on the left.

Now, go to your Home screen and swipe up to display the Control Center.

All you have to do is press the record button (two embedded circles).

The video capture of your screen will start automatically after a countdown of 3 seconds.

The red bar, which appears on the top of your screen, indicates that the recording is in progress.

To stop recording, you must press this red bar and select the Stop option.

 

Your video capture is then automatically saved in your Photos folder.

Be careful, it is not because it is easy to save a video posted on the internet that you have to do it.

Remember that these videos are subject to copyright. It is recommended not to share them.

Screen the screen of an iPhone prior to iOS 11

If your device does not have the latest iOS version then you can use your Mac to film the screen of your iPhone.

On your Mac, open the native QuickTime Player app and click File at the top of your screen. From the drop-down menu that appears, select the New Record option on the screen.

Connect your iPhone to your Mac, iTunes opens automatically, please do not leave the application.

Return to the QuickTime Player recording window and click on the white arrow. Select the [your name] iPhone option and start video recording.
