How to charge your iPhone as fast as Possible

The other day, a reader sent me a question. And it was interesting: “I have about 30 minutes before leaving the office and my iPhone is almost dead. If you were in this situation, what would you do to recharge the battery during this time?”

The fastest way to charge your iPhone depends on the accessories you have.

  • The fastest way to charge a new iPhone (iPhone 8, 8 Plus, X, XS, and XR) is to use the fast charge feature. However, to do this, you will need a USB-C Power Delivery Charger and a USB-C-to-Lightning cable. This will take your iPhone from a flat battery to 50% recharge in 30 minutes.
  • Do not have the tools to do fast charging? In this case, do you have an iPad charger or other high power USB charger? If so, use it because it is faster than your iPhone’s original charger. A 12W iPad charger can charge an iPhone flat at 100% approximately 33% faster than the standard 5W charger.
  • Do you have a classic iPhone charger? Well, you have to use the equipment you have. A good tip nevertheless to speed up the recharge (which works whatever method you use, but which is particularly useful when you only have the original charger) is to put the iPhone in airplane mode and stop to use it during recharging (the radio communications and the screen use a lot of energy, that’s why).
  • The slowest charging method is wireless charging, so if that’s all you have, well, sorry for you! You’ll get a quicker charge by switching the iPhone to Airplane mode, not using it while charging.
  • Another way is to charge it when you’re traveling using an external battery! It took me out of trouble many times!
